Fav Artist - Artgerm

I will be featuring favorite artists, for inspiration, motivation, skills, reference… I’m not sure it’s a good idea to do this where I will be putting my work up. Might get a bit intimidating to see so much great work beside my work. In any case I hope it helps me grow.

Today’s fav artist is Artgerm, very talented artist. I found him through this image.

Artgerm has a really wide range of skills, from cute manga to photo realistic paintings. Great understanding of anatomy, color, lighting… really shows through his work. Hope to see more beautiful work from him.

Funny thing happened today. I was just browsing through deviantART after posting my last post about Marta Dahlig. Then I stumbled upon a model I recognized from one of my favorite photos I found online.

I’ve always thought it was a great photo and model, but didn’t know where it was from. I was very happy to finally find the photographer and the model. Anyway while looking through the model’s gallery I find that she is quite popular among the deviantART community, and that she had worked with many other artists. After more browsing I find a recognizable image from non-other than MichaelO. From my second post. Funny how these random connections work.

I came across Xia Taptara’s site while looking for tutorials online. Great resource for anyone who wants to draw portraits. Many tutorials, and screen capture videos. I love his digital paintings. If you watch his videos he makes it look so easy. Check out this video.
